The Victorian Town House has recently been renovated to a high standard and is situated within a conservation area in Durham City, within easy walking distance of Durham Cathedral, a World Heritage site.
It is a five minute walk from both train and coach stations. The very centre of the city is also a mere five minutes walk away. It is in an excellent position for visitors to the University and the cathedral and castle.
The Victorian Town House has three rooms available - all en-suite. The rooms are all named after past bishops of Durham.
The Langley Room is a twin room on the ground floor. It has a large shower/dressing area.
The Beaumont room is the superior double/family room. It has a double bed and a large sofa bed with comfortable mattress. There is a large double shower in the en-suite.
The Flambard Room is the double room with a large corner shower in the en-suite. The room also has two leather tub chairs.
Both the Flambard and Beaumont have good views of the cathedral; all rooms have flat screen TVs with DVDs as well as hospitality trays and hair-driers.

There is an excellent menu for breakfast to suit every taste. Breakfast is served from 7.30 to 9.00 on a weekday and till 9.30 on a weekend.
The Victorian Town House is an excellent position for exploring Durham, Newcastle and the surrounding areas.

All tariffs (per room) include a full English breakfast and apply all year round. Single occupancy: £50.00 - £60.00 Langley Room: £80.00 - £85.00 Flambard Room: £80.00 - £85.00 Beaumont Room: £85.00 - £105.00 (depending on number of guests) The Victorian Town House is open all year round (except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day). Check-in is 4.00pm onwards and check-out 10.30am. |

We are at 2 Victoria Terrace which is the lower end of Princes Street. From the A1(M): Leave at junction 62 and follow the signs for the city centre. Once in the city centre follow the signs for the station. Ignore the final small road up to the station and take the second left onto Western Hill. Victoria is 25 yards up this road on the right. From the train station: Walk down the station access road to the bottom of the hill. Turn right, walk 100 yards and left onto Western Hill. Victoria Terrace is 25 yards up the hill on the right. |
