Nestled between the wooded country park of Caldicot Castle and the historic Norman church of St. Mary the Virgin - and just a short walk from Caldicots local amenities and businesses - The Lychgate provides the perfect setting for a relaxing stay, in the heart of Monmouthshire.

Glynis and Gordon Casey are the proud owners of The Lychgate and their aim is to provide a first class service and will do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Start the day in the calm environment of our breakfast room, where you can help yourself from a selection of fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghurts and fresh orange juice, while you are waiting for your choice from the menu.

Our cooked breakfast, contains only the finest ingredients with locally produced sausage and bacon, home made hash browns, roast tomatoes, mushrooms and your choice of softly scrambled, poached or fried free range eggs.

A hearty vegetarian option is always available and we are happy to cater for vegan, gluten free and any other special diet by arrangemant.

To accompany this there is always lots of freshly brewed tea or coffee and toast with a selection of preserves.

Our philosophy is simple, we want your stay to be memorable and for you to go away feeling happy and relaxed.

Our bedrooms have comfortable deep sprung beds, with crisp clean linen, fluffy white towels and complimentary toiletries.

The en-suite shower rooms all have luxurious showers and illuminated mirrors with shaver points.

Each room has digital TV with Freeview, a DVD player, hairdryer, radio alarm and a well stocked beverage tray. A selection of DVD's are available in reception for guests to borrow.

We also offer free WiFi Internet connection.

Perfect as a relaxing base for exploring Monmouthshire and the beautiful Usk and Wye Valleys, with the many market towns, numerous Welsh castles and sites of historic interest.

Ideal for Walkers and Cyclists with the offas Dyke trail nearby.

For Wildlife enthusiasts we have the Gwent Levels and Wetlands Nature Reserve at hand.

With Major sporting attractions such as;

Celtic Manor - host to 2010 Ryder Cup.
The International St Pierre Golf Club.
Chepstow Racecourse - Flat and National Hunt Racing.

Seasons Open: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.

Double Occupancy £74.00 per room per night inclusive of a full breakfast.
Single Occupancy £50.00 per room per night inclusive of a full breakfast.

Rooms available from 3pm on day of arrival.
Departure by 11am.

By Car:
From M4 take 23a and B4245 to Caldicot. From M48 take junction 2 for Chepstow and follow A48 (towards Newport) and B4245 to Caldicot.
Follow signs for Caldicot Castle (sign posted from B4245), you will find us situated opposite the Castle Inn and a few metres away from the entrance to Caldicot Castle Country Park.

By Train:
Caldicot Halt is served by mainline services between Cardiff and Gloucester. From Bristol change at Severn Tunnel junction.
The Lychgate is approximately a fifteen minute walk from the station.

By Bus:
Bus services X14 and 74 run to Caldicot from Bristol, Newport and Chepstow.
From The Cross, The Lychgate is a short walk along Church Road.
