The Glen Bed & Breakfast is situated in a late 18th Century farm house recently restored to a high standard with comfortable accomodation and a friendly atmosphere. Our rooms are en-suite with full central heating and cooling fans for the summer. Children are welcome and we have an additional child's room next to our double and single bedrooms where your youngster can have a small separate space (Winnie The Pooh decor). We provide a wide choice for your cooked breakfast or if you prefer a continental style we are happy to provide that as well.

The Glen is an ideal touring centre for a longer stay or a comfortable and convenient stopping point for the longer journey.
We are set in really beautiful countryside and have plenty of parking for your vehicle off the road.

From cream teas to legends, prehistoric sites to nature reserves the Blackmore Vale and the surrounding countryside offer so many options. The Saxon town of Shaftesbury rises more than 200m above the Blackmore Vale at its northern end. The highest town in Dorset and one of the oldest in England, it is less than 20 miles from, Sherborne, Wincanton, Yeovil and Blandford Forum.

Ten miles more will take you to Poole, Glastonbury, Dorchester and Salisbury. The coast is within easy reach stretching from Lulworth Cove to Chesil Beach and on to Abbotsbury and Lyme Regis.

National Trust properties at Stourhead, Kingston Lacy, Corfe Castle, Hardy's Cottage. Stately homes at Wilton, Longleat, Sherborne Castle. Pre-historic sites at Stonehenge, Maiden Castle, Badbury rings and many other hill top forts afford the most beautiful views in the South West. There are museums at Bovington (Tanks) Yeovilton (Fleet Air Arm) Blandform Forum (Royal Signals) Sparkford (Haynes Motor Museum) and beautiful gardens at Abbotsbury, Athelhampton, Hadspen and Lytes Cary.

Don't forget that Monkey World and Longleat are within easy reach of The Glen to excite and interest the younger members of your party.

Something for absolutely everyone and a warm West Country Welcome too.
