Willoughton is a small rural village set in a picturesque area of Lincolnshire. It can be found close to Kirton in Lindsey and is 13 miles North of Lincoln. It is only a short drive from Gainsborough and Scunthorpe. Willoughton has a pleasant, quiet atmosphere with lots of character. It is home to a range of age groups, from young aspiring families to elderly couples leading a quiet retirement. The village also hosts horse racing yards and studs; as well as a pub (the Stirrup Inn), post office/local shop, village hall, church and primary school. The church in Willoughton is known as the church of St. Andrew, it can be found near to the heart of the village, close to the children's park. The village also has a war memorial which is used to pay respects to those in the world war. Everyone who lives and visits the village makes sure that they treat the memorial with care and respect, this can help to ensure that it is kept in good condition and will not need replacing for a long time. This small inviting village also has public transport to the local main towns. It has a main bus stop with a large shelter and buses can take people of all ages to Scunthorpe, Lincoln, Kirton in Lindsey etc. Visitors may notice the polite and inviting atmosphere of the village with extremely polite and welcoming locals. The village is in popular demand for people wanting to live in the houses in Willoughton; with many of the families building their own private homes in the village. This contributes to the range of houses which helps to portray the character of the village. There is also a manor house in Willoughton known as Willoughton Manor. This is a beautiful country manor which keeps being maintained to its original state to prevent it from being neglected.
