Now part of Telford, Wellington still retains its character as an historic market town, set against the backdrop of the Wrekin Hill.
Its retail market, which is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, is the oldest in the area and has recently enjoyed its 750th anniversary. The town also boasts a number of attractive buildings, including All Saints Parish Church, built by George Steuart the architect of Attingham Park. It is widely regarded as one of the century's finest eighteenth century churches.
