Street Tourist Information |
|
Street is just to the south of Glastonbury, and owes much of its more recent development to the influence of Clarks, the world famous shoe manufacturers. The town now boasts a major factory-shopping complex - Clarks Village - and there is an interesting Shoe Museum at the company's headquarters, the museum traces the Street has a modern theatre and two swimming pools, one outdoors. Ivythorn Hill - a beautifully wooded area in the care of the National Trust, offers pleasant walks and fine views over Sedgemoor to the Quantock hills.
