Stockton-on-Tees is a town in the north-east of England, split between County Durham and North Yorkshire. There are many places to visit in Stockton, some of which are Preston Hall, the Arc Theatre and there is even boating on the river. There are 3 main shopping places in Stockton; these are Teesside Retail Park, Castlegate Centre and Wellington Square. Stockton-on-Tees offers a variety of health clubs, swimming pools, sports facilities, a 10-pin bowling alley, an ice rink and several golf clubs. Stockton-on-Tees is where it all began when it comes to railways. The Stockton and Darlington Railway opened in 1825 with the world's first steam hauled passenger train.
