Shaw Tourist Information |
|
Shaw is a delightful little town which borders the very scenic Saddleworth villages in one direction and borders Oldham in the other. It was once known as the Golden Town as it had the largest number of mills in the whole of England, the majority of them being cotton mills. Today, although still a busy little town, it has lost a vast majority of those mills. Pingot Quarry on the edge of Shaw is a beautiful scenic spot popular with hikers as is the forest at Jubilee.
