Scunthorpe Tourist Information

Scunthorpe is a true garden town that evolved from five small villages with the development of the steel industry.

You can take a steam rail tour around British Steel's Scunthorpe works and learn how technology has changed since the first ironworks began production back in the 1860's.

Scunthorpe is noted for it's beautiful parklands and the peace and beauty of its native woodland, unchanged for centuries.

At Normanby Hall Country Park you can enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside combined with an insight into 19th century estate life. There are woodland walks, red and fallow deer, a Victorian walled garden and a Farming Museum.
