Queen Camel Tourist Information |
|
The Queen was Margaret of France, second wife of Edward Ist, who made the manor of Camel part of the marriage settlement in 1299. The main street through the village is lined with buildings of blue lias and thatch. The church, reached from a cobbled lane, has a lofty tower containing the heaviest peal of six bells in the world.
