Portessie Tourist Information |
|
Portessie situated on the Moray coast is a quiet, beautiful place to visit and the surrounding area is a hidden gem. This part of the coastline enjoys many hours of sunshine in the summer. Strathlene bay is great for walks and to watch some of the most beautiful sunsets. There is a golf course near by and behind Portessie some unspoilt countryside good for walks. The old village of Rathven is near by, which is the oldest settlement in the area. Wildlife which can be seen include Sandpipers, jackdaws, blackbirds, seagulls and the odd dolphin in the Moray Firth. It is possible to get boat trips from the nearby Buckie Harbour.
