Leominster Tourist Information |
|
Leominster is a small market town on the border between England and Wales. It has a number of attractive buildings in the High Street and a plethora of unusual and interesting shops, not least one that specialises in cheese. Perhaps the most unusual building is situated in the park near the War Memorial. It is a fine, half-timbered building decorated with carved wooden beams and a number of "hags". The church nearby, which was once a priory, contains a fully functional ducking stool (which recently escaped being removed) as well as a mediaeval mural and much else of interest. There is a small museum in the town and a large supermarket on the west side of town. The town centre operates a one-way system which, as is often the case, can cause some confusion.
