Havering atte Bower is a small, quiet village outside busy Romford. The views are breathtaking and on a clear day you can see into London and the Queen Elizabeth bridge with the Kent countryside behind it. Many years ago the Royal family had a country palace here. It was the favourite of Queen Joan - wife of Henry IV, and it was here that she died in 1238. There is an enclosed area in the village's Bedfords Park where red deer are kept.
