Godalming Tourist Information

Godalming is a charming town of timbered buildings and cobbled streets, the first town in the world to have a public electricity supply, put in in September 1881.

It has a fine museum with displays about Gertrude Jekyll and Sir Edwin Lutyens who both lived and worked locally.
