Eastgate Tourist Information |

Eastgate is a tiny hamlet where Roman remains were found, including an altar, a copy of which can be seen at the side of the road. Eastgate once marked the eastern entrance to Stanhope Park, the Bishop's hunting park in Weardale, it is now the site of the Weardale Leisure Complex.
