Cwmcarn is a Small Village in the South Wales Valleys. It's 9 Miles by road from Junction 28 of the M4. The village comprises of: Alongside clubs (working men's type rather than Nightclubs), service businesses, schools and motor trade facilities. Approx. 2 miles into the Carn Valley, You will find Cwmcarn Visitors Centre where you find a Caravan/camping site and fishing pond (Members fishing only). Above the pond is a old Pit wheel and a dram where the pit once stood. Just up the road from this point you will find the entrance of Cwmcarn Forest Drive (payable entrance charge). If you go to car park 7 then walk up to Twmbarlem, the Views on a clear day are outstanding, To the East you can see just past the Severn Crossings, To the West what is believed to be the Millennium stadium in the distance. To the South, over the Severn Estuary, you can see the coast of the West Country including Weymouth, And if you look North can see the Mountains Cascading away into the distance. If you are an enthusiastic Mountain Down hill biker checkout 'Y Mynydd Mojo', Pronounced Y = “ee” as in See, Mynydd = Munuth, Mojo Directions to CwmcarnFrom junction 28 on the M4 take the A467 heading north, following the brown signs marked Forest Drive on this road you will encounter a few roundabouts on the 5th Roundabout take 3rd exit then 1st left this will take you up in to Cwmcarn Village. To Get to the Forest Drive take 3rd exit of the roundabout then 3rd left on to the Drive Rd, this will take you straight to the Forest Drive. Description by Ian Pugh
