Centre for Alternative Technology (6 Miles)* This pioneering eco-centre is packed full of hands-on displays and working examples of sustainable living, renewable energy, environmentally responsible building, energy conservation, organic growing and composting.

RNLI Visitor Centre (14 Miles)* The Visitor Centre contains a pictorial history of Barmouth Lifeboat Station plus some artefacts pertaining to the lifeboats. There are also some pictures of Barmouth in Victorian times. The Visitor Centre also houses the RNLI souvenir and gift shop.
