Glenalva is a lovely bungalow set in the beautiful South Hams, surrounded by delightful scenery in a tranquil valley.

It is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the countryside and bird life, which abounds in the garden.

Suitable for a wide range of customers, this property has received excellent testimonials from couples and families with children.

The Area Surrounding Bolberry

Bolberry is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it is half a mile to the South West Peninsula Coast Path. This stretch of Coast Path at Bolberry Downs is acknowledged as having some of the most spectacular scenery of the entire 570 miles.

The location can be termed as peaceful, but not isolated, as it is two miles from a village, half a mile from a pub, and in the summer, 200 yards from a camp shop.

The sandy beaches of Hope Cove and Soar Mill Coves are just over a mile away. Malborough Village is also just over a mile away and the Texaco garage has extensive opening hours.

Salcombe is four miles away and Kingsbridge six. Both have all the facilities of a small town, Kingsbridge even has a supermarket.

The premises are two bedroomed. One a double, the other twin.
Therefore Glenalva can sleep four easily.

There is a lounge with a log or coal fire should you want to use it although there is oil-fired central heating throughout. The log fire is very popular though when it is cooler in the evenings

There is a BT payphone in the hallway and there is a TV and video in the lounge.

The bathroom consists of a shower, WC and washbasin.

The kitchen/diner has all the appliances one would expect in a modern home including, dishwasher, microwave, double oven, ceramic hob, fridge/freezer and of course dining room table and chairs.

There is a bird table a few feet away from the kitchen window which constantly provides a rich source of entertainment.

In the utility room there is a washing machine and tumble drier.
Outside you will find the mature, pretty garden full of wild life. The garden is secluded and our guests have commented on how peaceful it has been. There are lovely rural views and it is bordered by trees and shrubs which give privacy. There is barbeque and garden/patio furniture.

Each bed has a choice of either winter or summer duvets. They are new each year. (January). Summer ones are put on after Easter to the end of September. However, the alternatives are underneath each bed, so you can change them if you wish.

You can expect freshly laundered duvet covers and sheets, and two pillowcases per person.

There is no bath, only a shower. A bath towel and hand towel per person is supplied.

The kitchen has a fitted cooker; hob; toaster; microwave; fridge-freezer; dishwasher; slow cooker; dining room table and chairs; ironing board and iron.

In the utility room there is a washing machine, drier and walking sticks.

The following will be available on your arrival:
Toilet roll in the bathroom;
Kitchen roll;
Two tea towels
Salt and pepper.

Outside there is a washing line; decking; gas barbecue (gas bottle supplied). It is mostly laid to lawn, some of which has a gentle slope. Birds flock to the table outside the kitchen window.

The lounge has a TV/Video/DVD, and a real fire if required.

Channel 5 cannot be obtained on the TV and no mobile phone will work. (You have to walk to the top of the cliff, half a mile away, or drive to Marlborough.)

The bungalow has oil fired central heating.

A mains fire alarm is installed.

Please donít forget the changeovers are on a Friday.

We are not asking for a security deposit, we would rather operate on a trusting basis and for guests to bring to our attention any breakages.

We wholeheartedly recommend you take out cancellation insurance, as unless Glenalva is re-let, the reservation deposit or the full fee cannot be refunded.
