Babingtons is the perfect place to enjoy a holiday in the Scottish Borders. We are located in a peacefull rural space near Coldstream.
The Cottage can be either rented for 4 people (+ Sofa Bed in Hall) or for 8 People (+ Sofa Bed in Hall). Priced Accordingly

Accommodation - Sleeps 8
4 Bedrooms - 3 Twin, 1 Double.
3 Bathrooms with Bath/Electric shower.
Hall with Sofa Bed.

2 Sitting Rooms with open fires, one leading on to a patio and spacious garden with stunning views over the Cheviot Hills. Orchard and back garden looking towards the Lammermiur Hills.

Dining Room seating 10.
Kitchen fully equipped with Washing Machine, Dishwasher, Fridge, Freezer, Microwave and Everhot Electirc Range Cooker.

All rooms have Oil-Fired Central Heating. Wired and Wireless Broadband available. The Cottage is Double Glazed Throughout. Well behaved Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.

Babingtons Cottage is owned and run by Maggie Babington. It has recently been upgraded and reflects Maggie's passions for Art, Interior Design, History, Geology and the Scottish Borders.

Her family over the centuries have had a rich history including some notable forbares. Originally from France, the de Babingtons settled in Northumberland in the 12th Century.

William Babington (1756-1833) an eminent Physician was President of the Geological Society in London. A statue of him by William Behnes (1795-1864) is in St Pauls Cathedral and also the Royal College of Physicians in London.

Babingtonite, a rare mineral was named after him, if you are interested in local geology, we highly recommend the James Hutton Trail.

Outdoor Facilities: Yes. Babingtons Cottage south facing garden has stunning views over the Cheviot Hills. The Orchard and back garden face the Lammeruir Hills with lovely evening sunsets.




Standard Rates

4 Persons (+ Sofa Bed in Hall) £415 - £725 weekly
8 Persons (+ Sofa Bed in Hall) £685 - £1195 weekly

Please telephone or email to find out about availability. Your provisional telephone or email reservation will remain firm, provided we receive your deposit of 30% of the full holiday payment within one week of the call or email. The balance shall be payable one month before the commencement of the holiday. Bookings taken within one month of arrival require full payment immediately.

Bookings are weekly but adjustments can be made for short stays should the cottage be available. Babingtons Cottage will be let from 4 pm Saturday and will be vacated by 10.0 am at the end of the hiring period.

When you book a holiday you are entering into a legally binding contract. If you have to cancel or cut short your holiday for whatever reason, then under the law you will be liable to any cancellation charges we may have to make. In your best interests we therefore strongly advise you take out Holiday and Cancelled Booking insurance to safeguard your holiday.

In the event of cancellation, every effort will be made by the landlord to re-let but if a substitute tenant cannot be found, the tenant is responsible for the whole cost of the period of tenancy.

Damage to property or fittings will be charged at replacement prices.

No responsibility is accepted for any loss, damage or injury to tenants, their guests or property while on the lands of Babingtons, 3 Lennelhill Cottages, Coldstream, Berwickshire, TD.12 4HA whether arising from the negligence of the landlords or anyone for whom they are responsible or from any cause whatsoever.

Directions

From Coldstream, by the Police Station, take the A6112 road to Duns. Pass through Lennel Village, then up and down 2 small hills & around a very sharp right hand S bend. Directly after the S bend you will see on the right hand side a road marked Lennelhill. Turn right up the hill. Babingtons is a long white house is the 2nd entrance on the right by a blue gate. On turning right Babingtons is on your left hand side.
Plane or Train

London (Kings Cross) to nearby Berwick-on-Tweed has excellent rail links from 3.5 hours. Also Edinburgh to Berwick-on-Tweed.

Edinburgh Airport (56 miles) & Newcastle Airport (62 miles) both have good flights within the U.K. and Europe. See map..
