Sleeping up to six people in two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom. There are many walks across the hills directly from the garden gate, two woodburning stoves, a newly fitted kitchen and BT Wi-Fi broadband.

Open all year, this is a 3 bedroomed detached stone and brick cottage, set 1000 feet above sea level in a peaceful rural setting, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The cottage is set near open heathland from which there are magnificent views. It's ideal for country lovers and walkers, with a diversity of wildlife and scenic walks from the doorstep, either an easy stroll or more strenuous hike.

Just come and relax in the beautiful surroundings. The cottage is ideal for a memorable, enjoyable or romantic break, or that well deserved holiday with family and friends, on the hills near Ludlow, South Shropshire.

The detached stone and brick cottage was originally built in about 1850 and there are steep stairs to the bedrooms. While original parts of the cottage are stone, much is brick built leaving curious shelves and ledges inside. The beamed ceilings and 2 woodburing fires add to the character of the building. The kitchen has a ceramic hob, electric fan oven, microwave, dishwasher, wine cooler and plenty of cutlery/crockery for 6 guests. The 23ft lounge has flatscreen TV and BT internet access. There is also a selection of DVDs and books.

Two woodburning stoves in the lounge and electric storage heating in each room keeps the cottage warm throughout.
One end of the lounge contains a new two seater sofa & dining table the other end has two new 2 seater sofas, made in Wales for us by Sofasofa. There is an easy to use Hunter log burner and a larger Savoy log burner, both keep in overnight on coal but we suggest using wood during the day as it is environmentally friendly.

The dining table and chairs can be stored under the stairs. The double bedroom above has a double bed made by The Original Bedstead Company. The second double bedroom has matching bedside cabinets. The new twin bedroom with vaulted ceiling allows a total of 6 guests. All bedrooms contain Victorian style beds, wardrobes chest of draws and flatscreen TVs. They are all heated by electric night storage radiators.

The large downstairs bathroom is equipped with WC, bath and separate electric shower.

Well marked footpaths start at the gate and take many routes in all directions across hills, countryside and forest. The famous Shropshire Way passes nearby. Ludlow, famous for its fine food shops, market, restaurants, picturesque castle and Elizabethan style black and white buildings, hosts the internationally renowned Ludlow Food Fair each September. Ludlow, proud of its fine food shops, features local produce, farmers markets, restaurants, picturesque medieval castle and black and white buildings.

Nearby are hang gliding at Long Mynd, walking on Wenlock Edge, exploring West Midlands Safari Park, travelling the Severn Valley Railway, studying the Mappa Mundi, farming at Acton Scott, experiencing the Iron Bridge Victorian Museum, tasting at Cadbury World, marvelling at RAF Cosford. Within easy travelling distance, but not all on the same day!

There is private parking for 2 cars, and a downstairs bathroom. Steep stairs may be unsuitable for infirm or elderly visitors. Contact us for details.
