Directions

From the main A38 Plymouth Road, take the turn for Heathfield and Bovey Tracey. take the 4th turn off the roundabout towards Bovey Tracey; continue down the Bovey Straights until you get to the next small roundabout just before Bovey Tracey and take the first turn along Pottery Road. Go along Pottery Road, past the House of Marbles on your right, and go to the very end of the road; at the T-junction turn left onto a narrow country road and continue up for about a mile. When you see the 'no speed limit sign on the left (hand side - be warned and go slowly! A little further on, on the right hand side you will see a long high stone wall. This belongs to Appletree Cottage and is the front entrance. Half way along is a small black iron gate with the name of the house on it. To park, continue up the lane and take the first right at the end of the row of thatched cottages and go down the track to the very end (it is a bit narrow and winding so be careful). At the end of this track is a garage door belonging to Appletree Cottage - to the right of that is a small shingled car park. It is best to drive down to the garage and reverse into the car park ready to go out again as it is quite difficult to back up the lane. This is the rear entrance to the cottage. You can now walk down the steps to the cottage's stable door.
