Located within the National Park of Scotland and just outside the bustling village of Aberfoyle is the picturesque hamlet of Braeval.

Braeval Farm Cottage, a former stables, has been transformed, retaining much of its charm and character, with an interior that is elegant, yet at the same time casual and practical.

Generously proportioned, the cottage provides comfortable holiday accommodation for up to 4 people.

The cottage comprises of 2 double bedrooms and a spacious open plan living room with kitchen, dining and sitting areas. The cottage has central heating and additional electric heaters throughout.

Braeval Farm Cottage is an ideal choice for a romantic break, or a family stay where the great outdoors can be enjoyed to the full.

The hamlet of Braeval boasts its very own golf course, Aberfoyle Golf Course, which is located only metres away from the cottage and is open to non-members.

Scenic footpaths and forest fire trails are easily accessed from the cottage offering the opportunity to explore the stunning Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, part of the National park, either by foot or by mountain bike.

The village of Aberfoyle is just one mile from the cottage and is a thriving, busy village with good amenities including several restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, a bank, a garden centre and a Co-operative.

Theres never a shortage of things to do in the Trossachs The area has some of Scotlands most dramatic landscape with numerous lochs and mountains.

If the great outdoors is for you, the area has fantastic walks for ramblers and hill walkers with breathtaking views of the Queen Elizabeth Forest from many vantage points.

If you love cycling this is a great place to explore; there is no shortage of challenging road and mountain bike routes as well as great family routes, ideal for all ages.

As keen cyclists we have great local knowledge of several hidden gems, with several long single track routes such as the Menteith Hills route to Callander, or the longer but very rewarding route from Aberfoyle to the banks of Loch Lomond, taking in a section of the West Highland Way.

No need to move the car as you can be on the forest trails within minutes of leaving the cottage

Water sports are very popular in the area with canoeing kayaking rafting and sailing, all available within a short distance of Braeval Cottage.

You can hire boats at Loch Ard, which is just 10 mins drive away.

The lake of Menteith has some good trout fishing and boats can be hired with permits.

Aberfoyle golf course is just across the road, in fact you can see the 18th from the courtyard; visitors are very welcome.

Its good to have a rest, so for those days off you might want to visit one of the many historical sites in or near the area.

Stirling castle is only 25 mins drive away and several other important sites such as Doune Castle are even closer.

Or take a trip on the paddle steamer Sir Walter Scott on the spendid Lock Katrine.

Wildlife is in abundance and we are very proud locally of our Osprey nestings and red squirrel populatio,n in the woods near Aberfoyle not to mention the Highland coos.
