Located in the heart of the Whisky country, with plenty of distilleries to visit.
This an ideal location for walking, cycling, golf, fishing or just watching the wild life swim by.
This is a very interesting part of the Highlands, listed below are a few places that might be of interest and worth a visit :-
The fishing Town of Buckie is a short drive away, with various shops and cafes. You can also enjoy a boat trip to watch the seals and dolphins.
Keith, which used to be a drovers town and Dufftown (the Whisky capital), are in the heart of the Whisky country with plenty of distilleries to visit.
Speyside and the Cairngorms are two of the best bird and wildlife area in the UK.
Golf - there is a course in Portessie, just along from the cottage, another the other side of Buckie and one in Keith. But most towns and villages have a course nearby.
There are many quaint harbours all along the Moray coast, with Portsoy and Findochty (said "Fin eckty") nearby with their painted cottages.
Cullen has a lovely bay, great sandy beach and fascinating rock formations.

By Car from Elgin: Follow the A95 towards Fochabers, turn left on the A98 towards Banff. At Buckie follow the road down to the sea front and follow the sign to Findochty. At Portessie turn onto Station Road, then Directly into Ogilvie Street. House will be on the left, park outside. |
