Caithness is an unspoilt area of Scotland perfect for nature lovers, birdwatchers, fishermen and anyone who likes peace and quiet and wildlife.
The Cabin is close to some wonderful coastline, Dunnet Head the most Northerly point of the UK mainland, Dunnet beach a two mile stretch of golden sand, Castle of Mey the former summer home of the Queen Mother, the Flow Country and many other places of interest.
The ferries to Orkney are all close by, for that special day out.
Good links golf courses are nearby.
The immediate area around the Cabin is farmland and is very peaceful.

Rowan Cottage, Tofts of Tain is located three miles from the village of Castletown, just off the B876 and on a singe track road, with only the occasional farm. Wick airport is about ten miles away, Inverness airport is 110 miles. There are regular bus services to Castletown and train to both Thurso and Wick. A car is preferable to stay in this peaceful location. |
