It has since been converted for use as a comfortable self catering one bedroomed holiday home, which shares the large garden with the adjoining Old Post Office B&B.
The Old Bakehouse has a topsy turvey character all of its own. There is a double bedroom and en-suite bathroom and shower downstairs. Upstairs there is a lounge diner overlooking the garden, with patio doors opening out into the garden. There is also a separate well equipped kitchen.
The property is in Hinton St Mary a small conservation village about 8 miles south west of Shaftesbury, our closest town is Sturminster Newton a mile South of us.
The village is in the heart of the Blackmore Vale and is very pretty; there is a friendly pub within two minutes walk where Joy, the landlady, does good pub food.
There are several public footpaths in the village, as well as circular walks around Sturminster Newton; the local area also has some great walking.
The nearest coastline is about 30-40 mins drive and Lulworth Cove and Studland are both very scenic. Shaftesbury, Sherborne and Dorchester are all within easy travelling distance and are well worth a visit.
