The cottage is situated in the heart of the village of Spofforth adjacent to the village green. The 12th century (English Heritage) Castle is a three minute walk from the house and footpaths lead in all directions to nearby villages, which all support excellent pubs for food or drinks. The village store is a three minute walk and it stocks all your basic needs.
Manor Croft is an old crofter's cottage which, although set at the bottom of the garden of Manor Cottage, enjoys complete privacy. It is reputed to be one of the oldest houses in the village, thought to be at least 250 years old and has been tastefully refurbished and modernised.
The cottage sleeps two and comprises a bedroom with double bed and shower room upstairs on a mezzanine floor, with open plan living downstairs. There are TVs upstairs and downstairs with additional DVD and VCR players downstairs.
There is a gas fired 'Wood burning stove effect' fire set into the hearth and the chimney breast forms an island in the room behind which is a fully fitted kitchen with modern appliances including dishwasher, microwave, gas hob and electric oven as well as the equipment you would expect to find in a well stocked kitchen.
The cottage has Gas fired Central Heating and is fully double-glazed, with French Windows that lead out onto a fully enclosed and private patio area.
Nearby activities include:
Golf. Spofforth has its own golf course a few minutes from the house and there are two other golf courses with a ten minute drive.
The Races: Wetherby horse racing track is within a quarter of an hour drive from Spofforth. York race course is half an hour away.
Walking: Footpaths lead in all directions from the village to neighbouring villages with plenty of loop walks available of varying lengths as well as the wonderful walking country of the Dales and North Yorkshire Moors being an easy drive away.
Cycling: There is something for everyone, including a disused railway track which has been converted to a cycle track which joins Spofforth to Wetherby and beyond.
Harrogate and Wetherby both have Cinemas and Swimming Pools.
You can visit Concert Halls and Theatres in Harrogate.
Harrogate also hosts the renowned Conference Centre and Manor Croft is an ideal place to stay if you are attending a conference.
