Location
Seahouses is part of the north Northumberland Heritage Coastline, which is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Corner Cottage is an ideal base for exploring the Farne Islands, Holy Island, the castles of Bamburgh, Chillingham, Dunstanburgh and Alnwick. Other attractions such as Cragside, Wallington Hall and the Cheviot Hills are all within easy reach.
There are two beaches easily accessible on foot from the cottage and the beautiful, unspoilt beaches at Bamburgh and Beadnell are within three miles. Beadnell is the safest beach in the area for bathing.
There is plenty of bird watching and coastal walking to do, as well as trips to the Farne Islands from Seahouses Harbour to see the seals and sea birds.
The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is fifteen miles away and very atmospheric with a small castle and an historic priory.
Bamburgh Castle can be seen from Seahouses Harbour.
Holy Island is accessible over a causeway and is cut off at high tide.
