The cottage was originally part of the Crown Estates and dates from around 1850. It is situated on a quiet lane on the edge of the village, a few minutes walk to the centre. The village lies on the edge of Romney Marshes and beside the Royal Military Canal and has a 13th century church, village store, tea shop, restaurant/pub and antique shop.
The cottage has a cosy sitting/dining room with two original red brick fireplaces. The sitting area has a wood burning stove making it warm and cosy throughout the year. Leading off from this room is a fitted kitchen with hob, double oven, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.
At the back of the kitchen is a small utility area with access to the stable door that leads to the enclosed garden and also the bathroom with cast iron bath and shower over.
An open cottage staircase takes you up to the first floor where there are three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed and decorative fireplace. The bedroom is situated at the front of the property with far reaching views towards the marshes. The second, single bedroom is at the rear and sits under the eaves. There is a third bedroom suitable for a child under 11 years. A cot is available and can be placed in any of the three bedrooms. Cot sheets, blankets and pillow are provided.
There is a small grassy bank to the front of the cottage and roadside parking. The enclosed garden to the rear has a lawn and patio, ideal for sitting out after a day at the beach or sightseeing. (Garden furniture and barbeque supplied).
The cottage has full central heating and hot water on demand. Final cleaning, electricity, heating, hot water, the first supply of logs, bed linen, towels and tea-towels are included in the price. A stair gate and high chair are provided for families with young children.
