Accommodation consists of a very spacious, bright and comfortable lounge and dining room furnished with high quality sofas, furniture and carpets.
The lounge has a lovely flame gas fire for cosy nights in. A flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player, CD player, radio, I-pod docking station, books, magazines, board games, DVDs, CDs, and jigsaw puzzles are all provided if you just want to stay in and chill-out. Our guests' usual comments are that the cottage has such a lovely homely feel they just want to kick off their shoes and relax on the sofa.
The dining table seats 6 in comfort and the dimmable lighting adds just the right ambiance to a lovely meal (or even a takeaway!)
The pretty cottage kitchen is equipped with a Neff oven and hob, washing machine, microwave etc and has a small table and chairs. We supply washing up liquid, tea towels, cleaning products etc.
Also on the ground floor is a clean and modern cloakroom with WC and hand basin.
Upstairs there are two double bedrooms with lovely views over the Northwick Park (formerly owned by the Spencer-Churchill family) estate. Bedroom 1 features a 5ft bed, huge range of wardrobes, dressing table and stool, bedside tables, lamps etc and has an en-suite bathroom with shower over, WC, handbasin and heated towel rail.
Bedroom 2 has an adjoining bathroom, again with shower over, WC, handbasin and heated towel rail, and features a 6ft bed (can be set up as 2 singles), french style wardrobe, dressing table and stool, bedside tables, chest of drawers, lamps etc.
All furnishings, carpets, decoration throughout the cottage is to the highest quality and done with care and attention to detail.
The sun-trap south facing cottage garden is accessed from the 2 sets of French windows and is the perfect place to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the surroundings. At the front and side of the property is a pretty courtyard with table and chairs - the perfect place to leave your bicycles!
The 35 acres of communal gardens and grounds are delightful. Up kept by a team of professional gardeners they feature rose gardens, ponds, a deer park and seasonal planting giving year-round interest and colour. Wildlife abounds - ducks, moorhens, deer, pheasants, woodpeckers and squirrels can all be seen when walking the grounds.
The area has a wealth of tourist attractions and lovely towns and villages to explore. Visit Stratford on Avon, Cheltenham and Oxford and all the lovely Cotswolds towns and villages - Stow on the Wold, Blockley, Broadway, etc and historic houses and gardens such as Snowshill Manor, Hidcote, Blenheim Palace, Sezincote - a perfect base for touring the area.
The cottage is our second home and we have furnished and equipped it to a high standard - so we regret we do not accept very young children (except babes in arms) or dogs. Older children are welcome and we can arrange the second bedroom with 2 single beds to accommodate their needs.
Please get in touch if you would like to see more photos.
