Keiss Harbour House is a stunning, contemporary-styled house on the edge of the Caithness village of Keiss, some 12 miles South of John O'Groats.

The five bedrooms and spacious reception rooms, make it ideal for entertaining groups of friends or family gatherings.

This area is ideal for those seeking an active holiday, with surfing and golf being local specialities, or for a more relaxing break, with sandy beaches, fishing and many historical and archaeological attractions in easy reach.

This is also an ideal base for trips to the Orkney Islands. Or why not just sit in an armchair in front of one of the three real fires, looking out over the sea?

The reception rooms in Keiss Harbour House are located upstairs, to take advantage of the sea views.
The upstairs rooms comprise:
Spectacular 'great hall' style living/dining room with handmade wooden dining table, two seating areas with sofas and armchairs, and an open fire and a wood burning stove.

Hall with open fire and small dining table for more intimate meals
Fully equipped kitchen.
Shower room with toilet.

The living/dining room, kitchen and hall all benefit from spectacular sea views.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs, accessed from a beautifully lit corridor:
Three double bedrooms (two with balconies)
One twin bedroom
Bunk room with two sets of bunks
Shower-room with steam room facility and toilet
Bathroom with hand-held shower and toilet
Laundry area with washing machine, iron and tumble drier

The bedrooms and bathroom all benefit from spectacular sea views.

Local Services: The village of Keiss has a pub, which serves bar meals, and a village shop which sells useful provisions.

Standard Rates

High season (July, august and September): £1150.00 per week.
New Year: £1600.00 per week.
Low season (all other times): £850 per week

Dogs are welcome by arrangement, free of charge.
A 20% deposit is payable to secure the booking, with the remainder due 6 weeks before your holiday.
Linen and towels are included in the cost.
Logs and coal for the fires are included in the cost.


Keiss Harbour Building can be reached by air, rail or car.

Fly to Wick Airport: Just 10 minutes drive away, with flights from Edinburgh with flybe.com and flights from Aberdeen with easternairways.com.
Or fly to Inverness (around 3 hours drive away) from many destinations around the UK and then get the train or hire a car for the remainder of your journey.

Travelling by rail: Is a great way to arrive in Caithness, with Wick railway station just 10 minutes drive from the house. Trains to Wick come from Inverness, which is linked by rail to a number of cities and towns in the UK. The train journey from Inverness to Wick is a spectacular trip though some of Scotland's most remote countryside. The sleeper train from London to Inverness is a wonderful way to arrive, see firstscotrail.co.uk for details.

There are also bus links to Wick from Inverness: see citylink.co.uk for details.

We recommend dunnets.co.uk for car hire in Wick, while a number of car hire companies have a base in Inverness.

And if you choose to drive, the house is easily accessible, with almost all of the route to Wick using the A9 from Glasgow/Edinburgh.
