Escape to the remote beauty of Loch Awe in the west of Scotland and discover your own Highland retreat.

This former village school has just been fully refurbished to provide bright and spacious self-catering accommodation, all on the ground level.

It's just a couple of hours' drive from Glasgow, but it's a different world - you are in the heart of breathtaking scenery here, with the chance to encounter some amazing local wildlife, from golden eagles to wildcats. We also offer a free fly fishing taster to all our guests!

The "History" apartment is a spacious three-bedroom apartment with two double rooms and a room with bunk beds, sleeping six in total.

The "Geography" and "Science" apartments each sleep four in one double room and one twin room.

The "Literature" apartment sleeps up to two guests, in a large family room which also has space for an additional mattress or cot, if required.

All the apartments are newly renovated to a high standard and can cater for a party of 16 in total.

Facilities in each include:
Bright open-plan kitchen/living area.
Fully-equipped kitchen.
WC with bath/shower.
DVD player.
Free WiFi.
Shared drying room.
Large private garden.

Activities and attractions
The Old School has its own private garden and you're just a stone's throw from stunning Loch Awe. Dalavich boasts numerous lochside or forest walks and attractive cycle routes so you can experience nature up close.

Bikes and boats are available for hire in the village - or you can try to beat the record for the biggest brown trout in Britain, caught in Loch Awe in 2002 and weighing 31lb 12oz.

There is a laundrette facility and a café/shop in the village, as well as a thriving social club within the village hall, which welcomes families.

Further afield
Dalavich is a great base for exploring more of the spectacular scenery of the West coast of Scotland - head North to Glen Coe, South to Crinan, or West to Oban and the isles.
