The cottage is dog friendly and has been sympathetically styled and constructed on a traditional Cornish fisherman's cottage. It is built on land formerly owned by The Duchy of Cornwall, at the Western end of Newquay lying above the world famous Fistral beach.
Bear Cottage has been equipped for year round use and to a very high specification. The attention to detail makes this property hard to beat. It is completely self-contained, carpeted and tiled throughout and fully equipped with everything necessary for an enjoyable self catering holiday. Beds are made up for your arrival, bed linen, towels and tea towels are included at no extra charge.
A travel cot, highchair and stair gate are supplied as standard. Please supply your own beach towels. A maximum of 2 additional guests can be accommodated on a double sofa bed in the lounge. Additional guests are charged at 10% of the booking price.
Electricity is supplied through a £1 coin meter. We are sure you will be delighted with the standard of accommodation at Bear Cottage and look forward to welcoming you.

The centre of Newquay is a 10 minute walk, therefore close enough for those who enjoy the night life but far enough away for those who prefer to enjoy the beaches, restaurants and the magnificent coastline. | |||

By Road: Newquay is within easy access of the A30 dual carriageway (twelve miles) which is served by the recently improved A30 bypass at Indian Queens, knocking a good 30 minutes off the journey time in the busy summer periods. From Bodmin: Stay on the A30 and follow signs to Redruth, turn left off the dual carriageway, sign posted A39 (A392) Newquay. At the first roundabout take the third exit, sign posted Newquay A392, Wadebridge A39. At the next roundabout stay in the left lane and take the second exit, sign posted Newquay A392. You are approximately 7.5 miles from Newquay. Go straight across the next roundabout (Quintrell Downs), sign posted A392 Fistral beach. At the Morrison's roundabout go straight over, signposted Newquay A392, Pentire and Fistral beach. Follow the road down the hill and take the second exit at the roundabout. Go past the Texaco garage and at the Mellanvrane (boating lake) roundabout take the first exit to Fistral beach and Town Centre. Continue to the top of the hill and turn left at the Mountwise roundabout onto Pentire Road. Follow Pentire Road down the hill and then take the first turning on the left into PENTIRE CRESCENT by THE FISTRAL BAY HOTEL. First on the left is Hatfield Crescent (gated entrance). Second on the left is Bezant Place - Bear Cottage is on the right once you have entered the cul-de-sac. Please note parking is situated at the rear of the property. Newquay also has an airport (5 miles from the town centre) with flights from the UK between Newquay, Dublin, Luton and Stansted, along with flights from Europe being added as well. Buses run from Newquay Airport to the Town Centre. Newquay railway station is in the town centre and National Express Coaches serve Newquay too. |
