This award-winning detached timber house is situated in its own small fenced woodland with nearby parking and stunning views of Lake Windermere and open fields. Many species of birds and an occasional red squirrel frequent the trees surrounding the house.
The compact house is accessed via an imposing covered timber porch beyond which a series of low timber steps leading upwards to the house. Oak flooring and large picture windows generously reflect the dappled woodland light throughout the interior, and great care has been taken to furnish the house comfortably, ethically and characterfully with contemporary and vintage pieces.
The house has:
One double bedroom, inset balcony, large built-in wardrobe, automatic blinds and picture window overlooking Lake Windermere. Reached by short enclosed staircase from living area (partially mezzanine)
One open-plan south-facing living space accessed by staircase, with french doors onto deck and picture window including compact modern kitchen (halogen hob, combi oven / microwave, fridge with icebox).
Sitting area, flatscreen TV / DVD with Sky Movies & Sports, phone, unlimited wireless broadband and wood burning stove; dining area with electric heater; concealed washer / dryer.
Small modern bathroom with Japanese style square bath, towel warmer, shower and window with woodland view.
Outdoor timber deck with firepit and furniture. Garden room.
Covered entry porch and timber walkway with external lighting.
Easy access to Windermere town and Lake on foot, in car or via ferry and many local cultural attractions including Beatrix Potter's house in Sawrey.
NB As the house is in an elevated position it is accessed on foot via steps from the track / parking are. Regrettably it is unsuitable for people with mobility problems, and babies and pets should be supervised.
