Situated in a quiet rural location close to the villages of Old Deer and Mintlaw. Our 3 bedroom detached holiday lodges feature a large open plan living area (20ft x 20ft) with a wood burning stove.

Set in the Buchan countryside, the village is surrounded by beautiful scenery and is an ideal location for walking, fishing and bird watching. Our location is ideal for those wishing to explore the North East region of Scotland and Royal Deeside, including:

  • Balmoral Castle
  • Cairngorm National Park
  • Coastal Trail
  • Castle & Historic House Trail
  • The Whisky Trail
  • Aberdeen - The Granite City
  • & Many Fine Golf Courses

    Shops one mile, bar and restaurant nearby.

    Lodge Accommodation Comprises: Large open plan living area with fully fitted kitchen, 1 double, 1 twin and 1 single bedroom and bathroom with bath having shower over, basin and WC.

    Oil fired central heating, wood burner stove (initial bag of logs provided), electricity included in rent, bed linen included in rent, colour TV, DVD player, fridge / freezer, microwave, patio, outdoor furniture, barbecue.

    Off road parking for 2-3 cars per lodge.
    Up to 2 pets welcome in one of our lodges.
    Smoking strictly prohibited in the lodges.

    Directions

    We are situated off the A950 New Pitsligo Road between Mintlaw and New Pitsligo.

    From the village of Mintlaw:
    Continue on the A950 passing the Aden Country Park on your left. Continue ahead for approximately 1/2 mile, passing the turning for the Village of Old Deer. Just ahead on your right, turn right in to the grounds of the Saplinbrae House Hotel. Follow the driveway ahead past the hotel on your left, the driveway then bears to the left at the rear of the hotel, with our private gate leading you into the grounds of The Old Shooting Lodge

    From Aberdeen and Aberdeen Airport:
    Take the A90 North as signposted to Fraserburgh and Peterhead. At the Toll of Birness bear left onto the A952 signposted Fraserburgh. Continue for approximately 9 miles and upon entering Mintlaw at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A950 New Pitsligo Road and then follow directions as above.
