Each cottage enjoys an extensive view across this rural landscape. The farm lies one mile from the village of Timsbury situated between Bath and Bristol.
The cottages have been sympathetically restored from stone farm buildings to provide luxury accommodation for 21st century living. Original stone and joinery have been re-used where possible and traditional methods used to bring the buildings back to their former glory.
The area is a great place to enjoy your holiday. From the grandeur of Bath to the delightful small villages to be discovered, there are activities to keep everyone occupied. Shopping in Bristol and Bath is close at hand and of course the historic legacies of both cities are open for all to explore.
Whippletree Cottage was originally a barn store and now provides accommodation on two levels suitable for four guests in two double rooms. On the ground floor the entrance leads you into the living and kitchen/dining area where a matrix of beautiful green oak timbers support the roof above you. The modern kitchen area has oven/hob, dishwasher and microwave. The lounge has two double settees with TV, video, DVD and CD player.
Stairs lead up to the open area of the main bedroom. From here you can enjoy views across the Cam Brook Valley or simply gaze around the cottage to admire the stone walls and oak detail. Downstairs, below the mezzanine floor you will find the second bedroom and fully fitted shower room. Both rooms have exposed oak beams and have a contemporary but cosy atmosphere. The shower room is laid out as a wet room.
Underfloor heating throughout is provided by our geo-thermal heat pump, however if you wish, you can take advantage of the wood burning stove in the lounge with a complimentary basket of logs provided. A welcome cream tea is also included with organic, local or home made produce.
There is a private garden area to the rear of each property from where you can admire the views, and relax. Wooden garden chairs and a table are provided.
The piggery building in the courtyard houses the laundry, sinks, washing machine, tumble dryer or clothes airer. There is no charge for the use of these facilities. Large white towels and 100% cotton bed linen are provided in each cottage.
The Engine House (Sleeps 2), has been converted from stables to a cosy studio suitable for two guests, with a private garden to the rear of the property.
Wharfingers Cottage (Sleeps 2), was built originally as a milking parlour and now provides accommodation for two people.
