Duke is a rather handsome old waggon from the 1940's. He sits proudly on his own patch of more than one fifth of an acre, enjoying views over the beautiful Cornish countryside.

In his previous life, Duke was home to a family of travelling showmen.

There are no big signs to shout at you from the road - to all intents and purposes, just another field gate and Cornish field. Simply tucked away from view, your own piece of Cornwall.

Drive in through the gates and park your car. From here is on foot to the waggon. (a short level walk) We have left a trusty old wheelbarrow to carry your suitcase and supplies should you need it. Follow the path to your door. At night, the solar lighting should kick in to lead the way.

Settle yourselves in - have a cup of tea on us (milk in fridge, tea tray set) and prepare to unwind.

On arrival you will find a welcome basket of goodies and the woodburner laid and ready to light. On cooler evenings a toasting fork may well become your new best friend - crumpets and marmite - scrummy! Delve into the lovely countryside books in the cupboard, or have a game of cards - loser makes the tea! A vase of fresh flowers will complete the scene - whatever looks good from our own garden or the field at the time.

The Waggon accommodation comprises:

Wide wooden steps leading up to the original half glazed stable door: living area with toffee coloured french enamel woodburner. (specifically designed for toasting toes after a long ramble across Dartmoor), comfortable leather tub chairs for two, original chest of drawers and writing bureau with dainty china cabinet over, torch, lighter and matches, playing cards, local information.

Fully equipped kitchen area with full size gas cooker and fridge. Ample tea towels, dishcloth, scourer, bin liners and various cleaning materials all provided. There should be everything you need, down to a corkscrew!

A wicker hamper is available for picnics, along with a rug and various bits and bobs inside.

Bedroom with a small double bed (4' x 5'9") - it's cosy and snuggly. Duvet and pillows provided. Spare blanket in overhead locker. Wardrobe, underbed drawers, wall cupboard, chest of drawers. Pitch pine flooring throughout the waggon. Lovely for bare feet and easy to clean!

Located a few steps away from the waggon is it's own private and detached bathroom containing a large shower, w.c. and basin. Soap and loo roll provided. Hot water and electric is included.

Logs for the woodburner - first basket free, thereafter £5.00 per basket. Bedding is provided - but please bring your own towels.

Directions

Located between Launceston and Callington.

from Exeter on the A30 to Launceston:
Take the Launceston exit, and at the roundabout at the bottom of the slip road, take the 4th exit signed to the town centre.
As you pass under the A30 get into the right hand lane and go back on yourself - back onto the A30. You then take the 1st exit - almost immediately - signed to Callington and Tavistock.
At the bottom of the slip road, turn Right and continue along the A388 for about 5 miles.

As you approach the 'Springer Spaniel' pub on your right, take the Left turn - very narrow and easy to miss - signed to Rezare. In Rezare turn Left and continue uphill and out of the hamlet. Straight ahead you will see the wooden entrance gates, which will be left open for you.

Please drive in, park up and follow the little winding path to Duke. A trusty old wheelbarrow will be left in the car park for your luggage - should you need it. Welcome.
