The two cottages enjoy stunning uninterrupted views of the river Nith and Criffel, and are ideally situated for a relaxing and luxurious break in the country. For the outdoor enthusiast, we are well placed for cycling, golfing, walking, fishing and many other leisure activities.
Glencaple is located on the Nith Estuary, one of only forty National Scenic Areas, recognised for their outstanding scenic interest. The county town of Dumfries is just a few miles away, and the cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Carlisle are within reasonable driving distance.
Glenstone Cottage Sleeps 6:
There are three bedrooms: a ground floor bedroom with double bed and two first floor twin bedrooms.
The family bathroom is finished to a high standard with under floor heating, bath and shower over.
The lounge is furnished with a wood-burning stove, television, and a DVD player.
The spacious dining kitchen has a modern fully fitted kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, cafetiere, automatic washing machine, iron and ironing board.
Pitcairns Cottage Sleeps 6:
There are three bedrooms: a ground floor bedroom with double bed and two first floor twin bedrooms.

Fuel type: Wood Disabled Facilities: No. Outdoor Facilities: Yes. Outside, there is a small front garden and rear secluded garden. The patio has garden furniture and a barbecue. Glensone also has a rear porch, suitable for storing outdoor clothing and equipment. An interesting feature of Glensone is that it also retains the original outdoor toilet and wash hand basin. Note- a indoor family bathroom is also provided! Local Services: mfries & Galloway is a region filled with fun activities and historical attractions to keep the whole family entertained. The Nith hotel, only a few minutes walk, overlooks the River Nith and caters for a wide spectrum of tastes and uses local produce whenever possible. The lounge, with it's traditional open fireplace, signifies the type of welcome you can expect to receive from this quaint, friendly country hotel and the public bar is an ideal location to meet some of the local villagers. The village also has a local Post Office/Shop and is on a bus route. | |||
