Sky Cottage provides excellent self catering accommodation, occupying a splendid sea front location, within a stones throw from Agnew Park, with views over Loch Ryan to Ailsa Craig and Arran. It has been tastefully renovated and furnished to a very high standard in 2008, although it dates back to 1749. The property overlooks the small, picturesque harbour with the newly developed yachting marina in view.

The accommodation comprises of living room, dining area, kitchen and bathroom with separate shower located on the ground floor. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms boasting sea views and a twin bedroom overlooking the well stocked tiered garden, a small playroom and a shower room/W.C.. There is a large, free, car park located opposite the property.

The shops are located within easy walking distance and there are a mix of traditionally owned shops and well known chain stores. All major amenities are to be found in and around the town centre including supermarkets, indoor leisure pool complex and the library, with internet facilities, which is located about 500 metres along the sea front.

Stranraer has always had close links with Ireland due to its proximity. Day trips across the Irish Sea are rich and varied, visit Belfast's fabulous city centre or take a trip up the Antrim Coast to the Giant's Causeway.

There is a lot to do in Stranraer and the surrounding area. Take a walk around the town and along the shore, visiting the museum and the Castle of St. John where the view from the roof is magnificent. Follow the Town Trail and discover for yourself the history and diversity of the town.

Stranraer is a great centre for the serious walker and nature enthusiast, and is skirted by the Southern Upland Way. For those who enjoy a garden walk, three famous gardens in the area are open to the public - Castle Kennedy, Glenwhan and Logan Botanic Gardens.

There are many fresh water lochs, reservoirs, rivers and burns for fishing. Sea fishing is fabulous and there are a diverse range of species available. The waters in this region remain one of the least fished by commercial fishing fleets.

Dumfries and Galloway is now internationally acclaimed as having some of the world's best mountain biking, with great local food and fine local ales make visiting the 7 stanes a must. Bike hire is available from a guest house just a couple of houses down the crescent, or bring your own bikes and store them in the outhouse in the back garden.

Spend time in Agnew Park with its pedal boats, train rides, adventure playground, crazy golf and new pedal go-kart track for older children. Enjoy a seat to watch the ferries set off up the loch en route for Ireland, including the H.S.S., the world's largest high speed ferry. The entrance to the park is located only 50 metres from Sky Cottage.

Come rain or shine, there is always plenty to do in and around Stranraer. The natural place to visit!

By Road: From the A77 continue along the seafront taking the 3rd exit off the 1st roundabout. Take the 1st exit at the mini roundabout and proceed for approximately 800 metres and the cottage is located directly opposite the long term free car park.

By Road: From the A75 on entering Stranraer take the first right, follow to the end of the street, turn left, proceed along the seafront taking the 3rd exit off the 1st roundabout. Take the 1st exit at the mini roundabout and proceed for approximately 800 metres and the cottage is located directly opposite the long term free car park.

By Rail: On arriving at Stranraer Station follow the footpath to Stena Terminal Building, turn right on reaching the main shore road, continue past Police Station following third exit from main roundabout, continue along shore front at mini roundabout and proceed for approximately 800 metres and the cottage is located directly opposite the long term free car park.

By Boat: On arriving at Stranraer, follow the footpath to the Stena Terminal Building, turn right on reaching the main shore road, continue past Police Station following third exit from main roundabout, continue along shore front at mini roundabout and proceed for approximately 800 metres and the cottage is located directly opposite the long term free car park.
