Recent barn conversion, Glyn-yr-aur (or Valley of Gold) takes its name from the local valley in which it resides, and provides the perfect base camp from which to explore all of Snowdonia.
Once famed as the stomping ground of ancient British King Arthur, it is widely believed that his city of Camelot was once but a stone's throw away from our home.
Nearby mighty mountain, Cadair Idris, has long been called the Seat of Arthur in these here parts, and in fact all of Snowdonia lays claim to many Arthurian links and mythical assocations.
The Lady of the Lake was said to have resided within Llyn Llydaw on Snowdon and Arthur was ultimately said to have been slain at Camlann, around 20 miles from our Glyn-yr-aur.
And for those interested in history, there are at least 22 medieval castles within an easy drive from our home, built by once fearsome Britsh king, Edward I (he who ravaged William Wallace in Braveheart).
Many groups or re-enactors also stage tournaments and medieval pageants and concerts throughout the peak holiday season of the year.
But this area doesn't just hold great delights for those with an interest in history. Our cottage is also greatly suited to outdoors enthusiasts and nature-lovers alike.
There are mile upon mile of secluded walking trails and mountain-bike routes for people to uncover and explore. And keen walkers or climbers will undoubtedly want to spend many a delightful hour scaling local mountains such as the Cadair Idris, Snowdon, Glyderau, Rhinogs and Y Tryfan.
Whatever kind of holiday you hope to create, it can all be found here in this enchanting corner of the Snowdonia National Park.
