on the edge of the National Park. In just 100 yards you can be on the open mountain and roam freely across the wild, western area of the park known as the Black Mountain.
Red kites, buzzards, mountain hares and wild ponies as well as sheep and Welsh Black Cattle are likely to be your own companions as you freely roam across this historic landscape. Panoramic views of the mountains, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, make this a wonderful place to stay.
From Iron age hill forts to Victorian mining the evidence of man's existence in these hills is easy to find. More recently, the area has been used by film crew for Dr. Who & Torchwood or by Top Gear for filming their cars.
Whether you enjoy outdoor pursuits such as walking, caving, mountain biking, para-gliding etc or prefer quieter activities such as painting, photography, geology or bird-watching, Penygraig is the place for you.
This spacious cottage comes well equipped for a relaxing, comfortable stay and has the benefit of storage for mountain bikes and other equipment.
Not the active type - don't worry! There are two cities within easy reach with a full range of shopping, restaurants, museums, theatres and clubs. There are also dozens of places to visit caves, stately homes, gardens, castles, country parks etc so everyone should find something to their taste.
You can be assured of a warm welcome, friendly locals and a holiday to remember.
