The Tower House provides an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside and for walking in Scotland's southern uplands. For cyclists, the cottage is perfectly located for 3 of the 7 Stanes mountain bike centres.
Nearby Thornhill, a beautiful village, offers a number of shops and banks. The larger town of Dumfries, is just 9 miles away and offers a wide range of facilities including swimming pool and museums.
Whether you're interested in golf, fishing, walking or cycling, The Tower House in Throughgate is ideally located for exploring Dumfries and Galloway. The Tower House is close to a number of local attractions.
We're 9 miles from Dumfries, a town with many connections to Robert Burns. You'll also find many beautiful villages close by including Thornhill and Moniaive, which are well worth a visit.
If you have children, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the number of places to visit nearby. Some of the places we've enjoyed as a family include Mabie Farm Park and Cream o' Galloway - fun for children and parents alike! Drumlanrig Castle is also a must.
(Please note: children must be supervised)
Please note: The Tower House is strictly non-smoking and no pets.
