Rhumhor Holiday lodge is a lovely Victorian house packed that is unique features and designed to give you a comfortable stay. It was built in the 1890s in the days when the only access to Carrick Castle was via the sea and you can still enjoy the same level of tranquility experienced all that time ago.
The drawing room is at the front of the house and has large comfortable sofas, a wood-burning stove and wonderful loch and mountain views. Here you can relax in front of the fire.
The very large family-entertainment room has a pool table, sofas, TV, DVD and games consoles. It has bay French windows, which lead out onto the decking area. It is the ideal room for socialising, entertaining and generally enjoying yourselves!
The dining room is the place where you can all eat together and enjoy formal or informal dining. The well equipped kitchen has an electric oven, 4 ring electric hob, microwave with oven, a fridge and a freezer, bags of storage space and a full sized dish-washer.
On this floor is a shower room and directly opposite is a double bedroom with a charming fireplace and loch views.
There are four bedrooms on the first floor. There are two doubles, a twin bedroom and a single room off the stairs. All the rooms have lovely loch and-or mountain veiws. On this floor is a family bathroom with bath and shower.
A garden lawn runs along the front of the house, bordered by mature shrubs, cherry and chestnut trees, and having views to the loch and surrounding hills. At the side of the house next to the family room is another private lawned area with decking and a BBQ.
There is parking to the side and front of the house
The caretakers apartment is located to the rear of the property meaning that you always have someone to contact if you need any information and there is someone here to meet you and show you around the property.
While Rhumhor Holiday Lodge enjoys such a peaceful location at Carrick Castle, there is also a golf course, swimming pool, ice skating, pony trekking, boat hire, fishing tackle hire-purchase, indoor bowling, curling (in season), restaurants and pubs all within the glen.
Day trips by car from Rhumhor can take in stunning Glen Coe, Oban (the gateway to the Isles), the architecturally distinguished town of Inveraray with its historic museum jail and fairytale castle, and the delightful fishing harbours of Tarbert and Crinan.
Rhumhor Holiday Lodge has new owners and has been lovingly upgraded. This includes full redecoration throughout, new carpets, new bathrooms and fittings.
