There is a bath, wc and shower upstairs, with a cloakroom downstairs with wc and handbasin.
Heated by oil central heating, there is also a log burner (all logs supplied) to give that homely feeling when the weather is chill!
A welcome hamper is provided, with bread, milk, butter, breakfast cereal, jam, biscuits and orange juice - just in case you forget anything!
A full range of appliances are in situ - TV, DVD player, CD player, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave - all fuel and electricity costs are included in the rental.
Hamsterley is a beautiful, traditonal English village, complete with duck pond, village green, and medieval church - St James and of course the pub and restaurant - the Cross Keys.
Attractions in the area are too numerous to mention, but to give you a flavour - Hamsterley Forest is on the doorstep, with its walks, mountain biking, pony trekking and bird watching. Beamish Museum is a short 30 minutes away, Durham Cathedral and Castle only 25 minutes, Raby Castle 10 minutes. York Minster 60 minutes. Ripon Catherdral 45 minutes, Heartbeat Country 60 minutes.

A1(M) north to A68 turn off, signed Corbridge. A68 for 13 miles...after passing through Toft Hill, take second slip road signed Hamsterley. One and a half miles up the bank you enter Hamsterley - keep on through the village pasing the Cross Keys on your right. 75 yards furthjer on, with the village green on your right, Hamsterley Cottage is on your left hand side, with the bright red door. |
