This is the best of both worlds, privacy without seclusion; you are welcome to relax in the garden area, or enjoy a private stroll down to the River Wear.
The double entrance doors take you into the hallway with wood flooring throughout, spindle staircase and feature stonewalling.
To the left is the lounge, with leather corner settee and LCD flatscreen TV with freeview.
To the right of the hall is the kitchen, with built in oven and hob, fridge with ice box, microwave and dish-washer.
The downstairs bathroom is fully tiled, with an electric shower in a double size shower cubicle; there is a large mirror with dual sided lighting, and plenty of internal storage.
Upstairs there is an additional seating area with a bedroom on either side.
There is a double bed in one room and two singles in the other and both are equipped with a half-height wardrobe and drawers; bedside lamps to read by and an LCD flat screen freeview TV for your comfort.
All your linen and towels are provided, so there is no need to stress yourself carrying heavy bags.
If golf is your game, then the North East has a number of top class courses, with the popular Ramside Hall less than five minutes car drive away.
If you are feeling fit, then the local Cocken Golf Course is within a 1/2 mile walk; they also have a floodlit Golf Range with a range of food on offer, once you have gained an appetite.
Alternatively, you may wish to explore the surrounding region further:
Beamish open air museum, eight miles away, vividly recreates the regions industrial and agricultural heritage, with special events held throughout the year.
Durham's Cathedral City, is less than five miles away, with its magnificent castle, cathedral and many shops and amenities.
Only fifteen minutes by car and you could be standing at the feet of the Angel of the North, which overlooks the journey to the Horth East's Metro Centre, a shoppers paradise.
The City of Newcastle is only a short distance away, with theatres, bars, restaurants and a night-life second to none, on the newly developed Quayside.
After all that sight seeing it's a delight to come back to the cottage, with a cosy feel during the winter, but a fresh cooling atmosphere in the heat of the summer; it also features stone work and natural materials have bben used in the furnishings.
Romantic and special occasions can be catered for - please let us know your requirments in advance. We look forward to welcoming you to Keeper's Cottage.
