The quiet village of Greysouthen (pronounced: "Grey-soon"), lies three miles to the west of Cockermouth. Right on the edge of the Lake District National park, it makes an ideal base for exploring the northern and western areas of Cumbria and the Lake District. It is approx. 30 miles from junction 40 of the M6.
Nearby Cockermouth has a number of attractions including Wordsworth House, Jennings Brewery, interesting Georgian architecture and numerous independent shops, galleries, cafes and pubs.
Greysouthen is approx. 9 miles from the port of Whitehaven, 8 miles from Ennerdale Water, 8 miles from Bassenthwaite Lake, 7 miles from Loweswater and 12 miles from Keswick. There are many places for walking in the area, including the Solway coast (6 miles) and Whinlatter Forest (8 miles).
