Daisy Cottage is situated on the village green, in the conservation area of Cockfield. This comfortable, pleasantly furnished, south facing detached stone cottage, is an ideal holiday destination.
You will be surrounded by beautiful countryside with access to the Cockfield fell less than 500 metres from your door, where you can wander free, and relax, explore the fell and the historic Gaunless Valley at your leisure. Cockfield is set between Teesdale and Weardale with their rivers and waterfalls, combined with sweeping moorland and heather clad hills this makes perfect walking or touring country.
Hamsterley forest is just 7 miles away for nature trails, mountain bike hire, or pony trekking. Whatever you are looking for your perfect holiday, either the quiet relaxing, peaceful holiday, or a more adventurous activity break, this area caters for you.
Accommodation Comprises
Entrance hall, lounge/dining room, well equipped kitchen, toilet and bathroom, utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer, curved stairs lead to landing, bedroom with king size bed and en suite with shower toilet and hand basin, 2nd bedroom with twin beds.
Heating, electricity, bed linen, and towels all included.
Cot and high chair are available on request.

There is no private car parking at Daisy Cottage, however there is parking space directly in front, and to the side of the cottage.

Most of your day to day needs are catered for, however, there are major supermarkets, and specialist shops in nearby Barnard Castle, or Bishop Auckland should you fancy that something a little bit special, after all, you are on holiday! Cockfield can offer you: Queens Head - Public house, a pleasant atmosphere in this friendly village pub. Meals are served here, and live entertainment is often enjoyed on a weekend night. Kings Head - Public house. This is a lively local drinking establishment. Outside this pub you can see the Quoits pitch (square clay pits, covered with steel plates to keep the clay damp when not in use) where the local Kings Head team play visiting teams. Working Mens Club - Selective opening hours, but you can enjoy live entertainment, dancing, or a quiet drink here. Chinese Takeaway - Comprehensive menu, very handy for a tasty easy mealtime. CO-OP - General store. groceries, fresh bread, and the Lottery. Post Office - Usual services. Butchers - Highly recommended for quality meats, free range eggs, vegetables and sandwiches. Pharmacy - Prescriptions, advice, off the shelf medication and toiletries. Newsagent - Papers, sweets etc. Garage - Petrol and Diesel available here, 4 x 4 specialists, but all makes and models serviced and repaired. M O T testing station. Doctors Surgery - Just across the road, although we hope you will never need this service. Doctors, nurses, chiropodists. Church of England St Mary's - Regular services, all welcome. Methodist Chapel - Regular services, all welcome. Cockfield also benefits from a very good bus service running till late at night to, Barnard Castle, Bishop Auckland, Darlington, and surrounding villages. | |||

National Express also have stops in Darlington. |
