Beech Tree Cottage is the former coach house to Glenhurst, a Queen Anne house situated close to Beech Tree, and can be dated alongside it to the early eighteenth century, although sections of the sandstone wall at Beech Tree are considered to be older than this date.
The coach house now provides accommodation for up to three people over two floors. The entrance from the enclosed garden leads directly into the sitting room with natural sea-grass flooring, and log burning stove. The bookcase lined walls, Victorian drop end sofa and Pembroke dining table create a charming room. The sitting room is equipped with a flat screen television, DVD player and a sound system. Two doors lead off the sitting room, one to the fully equipped kitchen and the other to the bathroom which contains a large luxurious shower. An open staircase takes the guest up to the first floor.
The first floor holds a master bedroom built into the eaves of the coach house with a fine double bed with oak head board under exposed beams. The single room is surprisingly spacious and is again built into the eaves.
Outside is the cottage garden with an attractive paved area with a barbecue, table and chairs for alfresco dining and entertaining.
Close to the River Severn in Bewdley, Beech Tree Cottage is perfectly situated to explore the picturesque Georgian market town with a good choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants. The historic 18th Century Church of St Anne dominates the main street with it's many tiny shops, antiques, craft galleries and farmers markets.
Also located in Bewdley are two well known tourist attractions, The Severn Valley Steam Railway and West Midlands Safari Park.
Beyond Bewdley are more delightful places, from the glorious hills and natural springs at Malvern to Elgar's Birthplace Museum, the magnificent landscapes at Croome Park and the romantic ruin of Witley Court.
A welcome pack is provided which comprises, tea, coffee, sugar and milk and you can pre-order locally produced food from our "Flavours of Worcestershire" shopping list.
