The Scottish Tourist Board commented that "Salmon Cottage was a delightful property in a fabulous sea front setting".
The Scottish Tourist Board has again awarded Salmon Cottage a Four Star Grade due to the very high standards that we continue to present to all of our guests.
We still have vacancies for the spring and summer months so please inquire about our availability. We try to respond quickly to all inquiries. We'll even lay on a special welcome pack for you that includes wine and nibbles just to get you off to the right start.
The original old building was a fisherman's ancient bothy with records dating from 1625.
The property is so close to the shoreline there are no busy roads to cross, therefor making it completely safe for children to access the gently sloping clean sandy beach which is only a few steps from the front door and patios and there is parking for two cars.
The fabulous panoramic views over the sea towards the lighthouse island of Inchkeith and the little fisherman's harbour that are offered from the huge picture windows are quite breathtaking, and no matter what the weather is the natural light just seem to permeate through the extensive glass panels and enter right into the open plan lounge and dining areas as well as both bedrooms.
Salmon Cottage is centrally heated from an easy to use combination gas central heating system with radiators in every room and piping hot water is on tap at all times. The bathroom and separate shower rooms are fully tiled and feature heated towel rails and clean stainless steel all modern fittings.
The double bedroom features a king size solid oak framed bed with crisp, white hotel quality Egyptian linen and matching solid oak dressing table and bedside drawers, wall mirrors and with a flat screen digital channel TV.
The twin room also features contemporary, top quality laquoured furniture and solid oak framed beds and a flat screen TV with DVD.
Go to bed with the multi-coloured lights of Edinburgh reflecting on the water and wake up to fantastic uninterupted sea views from both bedrooms.
The open aspect lounge, dining area and kitchen are fitted out with everything the modern traveler would expect from a top quality property. Featuring comfortable leather upholstery and the latest 'Lazy Easy Chairs' and matching foot stools. Solid oak furniture, a flat screen TV with selected sky channels, DVD, and stereo. There is also an extensive range of books, CDs, DVDs and a wide array of personal touches for your comfort and convenience. The modern lighting systems can be adjusted to match any mood or circumstance.
The Kitchen and dining areas are fitted out to a very good standard with all modern appliances including fridge, freezer, electric fan assisted oven, five burner easy to ignite gas hob unit with extractor fans, microwave, quick boil kettle and coffee machine, dishwasher and an excellent array of catering quality kitchenware.
The large dining table is solid oak and the chairs are in comfortable leather and stainless steel.
There is a purpose built separate utility room which includes full laundry facilities with a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing equipment. Outside drying is also available.
There are good sized private patios with sea views to the front of the property or if you prefer secluded to the rear, with barbecue equipment, tables, chairs, loungers, sun parasol's all available for your use. There is also a good selection of buckets and spades for the sand castle architects in the family!
Sailing boats are a prominent feature around the sea front. You can watch the large ships or the small boats go sailing by as you relax on the south facing seafront patio.
