The local attractions in the historic town of Cromarty include the Courthouse, Hugh Miller's home and organised Dolphin boat trips. In nearby Fortrose and Rosemarkie are extensive beach facilities, the peninsular for observing dolphins and the Groam House Pictish museum.
There are several good restaurants in the local area and a full range in Inverness and Dingwall. The nearest distillery visitor centres are at Muir of Ord (Glen Ord), Invergordon (Dalmore) and Tain(Glenmorangie), all excellent malt Whiskies.
For golfers, the lodge is an ideal central location with at least 11 quality Highland courses (including the championship courses of Royal Dornoch and Nairn) within a 45 minute drive.
There are local walking and bike trails throughout the Black Isle with extensive forest and coastal walks close by. Also, there is a renowned bird watching area at Udale Bay.
The accommodation comprises an entrance hall, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, conservatory, a sitting room with TV, DVD player and CD/Radio Hi Fi, large twin bedroom, double bedroom with en suite bathroom, bedroom with bunk beds and a second bathroom with shower.
Also, there is a sun deck at the front of the lodge and French doors to a secluded rear terrace. There is a large private garden with adequate room for a children's play area.
The lodge, which is electric throughout, has special insulation, making it ideal for winter breaks.
Up to 2 dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.
There is a storage shed for bicycles with barbeque as required.
A welcome pack can be provided by arrangement.

The lodge is normally rented on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday. Rates are £350.00 in Low Season to £450.00 per week Saturday to Saturday in July, August and September, the High Season. Short breaks available upon request. |

From Inverness go North on A9, after the Kessock Bridge turn right to Munlochy B9161. Through Munlochy, turn right to Fortrose and Rosemarkie (A832). After Rosemarkie, follow the signs for Cromarty until you see and take a left turn to Balblair (B9160). After 3.8 miles (when you start to see the Cromarty firth in front of you) our turning is on the right ( 2 telegraph poles at end of drive). If you get to a right turn to Cromarty, you have gone too far. |
