Millgate Museum is housed in a Victorian warehouse in a picturesque setting on the banks of the River Trent. It opened in 1976 and is part of the Millgate Conservation Area, an area of great historical and architectural interest.

The Museum has fun educational activities for children and fascinating exhibitions including streets, shops and rooms in period settings.

The Mezzanine Gallery within the museum is a venue for temporary exhibitions featuring the work of local artists, designers and photographers and provides members of the public with the opportunity to purchase unique artwork.

Millgate Museum also operates a fine Research Service and provides local people with the chance to get involved with museum work via the Friends and Volunteer Groups.

The Museum has several temporary exhibition spaces for hire; The Mezzanine Gallery, The Stage Two Gallery and The Art Before Coffee Gallery. All of which feature an interesting and exciting range of temporary exhibitions.
